Riddle of the day

I've had no answers proposed for the last couple of riddles, although I must admit yesterday's is probably obscure unless you're a physicist (I have had the odd request for more physics ones).

Yesterday's riddle has got me thinking about riddles involving brothers, though. There is a traditional one which starts with 'two brothers are we.' I will have to think of one involving three, but here goes one with a few more...

Rings flash in the light,
As the five brothers stand on a ridge,
One points the way,
but another opposes all.
